The Stamm Residence
The design process for the Stamm Residence
This was one of the first images that I looked at for inspiration. Emy Stamm, the mother, voiced interest in the South American culture.
This was an inspiration for German culture, I was interested in the relationship between the geometric figures
From those images I came up with this parti, I incorporated the geometric figures and placed them at different levels with linear elements running through. This eventually became my ceiling plane for my residence.
Here are some textiles and color palettes that I drew the color schemes from
The artwork above is from a South American artist. I wanted to add bright, vibrant colors that would pop through the artwork and textiles

There is a drop down frosted glass cylinder that goes around the dining table. I added it to create different areas visually without having to put up walls. Since the residence was so long, 70' and narrow, 23' I didn't want to break it up into rooms, instead I left it open. The ceiling is walnut beams that run the length of the house and steel beams that run the width.

Top Level
For the Top level, I gave the family an outdoor dining option, located on the deck in the front of the house. Near the front porch is a small kitchen for convenience. At the back there are two more decks. The one located directly next to the indoor space has a hot tub. I also put a half bath with an door that exits directly to the hot tub for changing. The furthest deck only has access from the ground level, and it has gardens and additional entertaining options.
